Editorial summary

This study examines associations between ventilation, temperature, relative humidity and phthalate concentrations in 327 bedrooms in Tianjin, China. Dust measurements and estimates of airborne concentrations were used to assess six common phthalates. Greater ventilation was associated with lower concentrations of some more volatile phthalates, while higher temperatures were associated with increased dust-phase concentrations. The article discusses earlier experiments on DEHP emissions from vinyl flooring using the Field and Laboratory Emission Cell (FLEC).
