Laboratory testing
Characterise emissions from building materials, coatings, carpets, sealants, textiles and other surfaces.
The original Field and Laboratory Emission Cell
FLEC® makes reliable VOC and surface-emission sampling practical in the laboratory and directly on site, without destructive testing.
FLEC® is designed for emission testing in accordance with ISO 16000-10, ASTM D7143-24, NT BUILD 438 and NT BUILD 484. Supporting sampling and analytical procedures are described in the relevant parts of the ISO 16000 and ISO 16017 series. Read about standards

One platform, several applications
Characterise emissions from building materials, coatings, carpets, sealants, textiles and other surfaces.
Measure directly on floors, walls and ceilings while keeping the tested surface intact.
Explore on-site testingUse FLEC® in production-line quality control, for example when manufacturing wood flooring, paints and coatings.
Explore production controlCombine the FLEC Cell with dedicated air control for stable flow, humidity and clean-air supply.
Engineered for low sink effect
The compact polished stainless-steel cell minimises internal surface area. Its defined airflow and outlet split support efficient sample collection with a small, constant chamber overpressure.

FL-0001
The Flec Cell (Field and Laboratory Emission Cell) is made of certified solid acid-resisting stainless steel. All surfaces, getting in touch with the sample emitted, are polished. This provides, together with the very small surface area of the test-chamber, a dramatic minimizing of the sink-effect compared to the sinkeffect of conventional chambers. The outlet split provides up to 90% of the supplied air to be collected on one or two sample tubes, and secure a very small, but constant overpressure in the chamber. FLEC® is also used in production-line quality control, including the manufacture of wood flooring, paints and coatings.

FL-1000
The FLEC Air Control Fl-1000 is designed according to the specification to control the flow, humidity and purity for the air supplied to the Field and Laboratory Emission Cell –FLEC. Even The FLEC Air Control has a high capacity charcoal filter it must be supplied with a compressed dry and clean air (Synthetic air is recommended) Mixing dry air and saturated air makes controlling the humidity of the air. It is possible to test individual flows and mixed flows by switching the build in valves and using reference measuring instruments.

FL-2001
The FLEC Sub Unit FL-2001 is made in order to get emission samples from not planar or porous surfaces using the FLEC Cell. It provides sampling only from the upper surface using the dynamic headspace method or using the static head space method like from a chamber. But in this case, volume of the chamber may be changed to save time and increase sensitivity and to get the emission from the total surfaces to be sampled. Diameter of the chamber for model FL-2001 is 150 mm. The high may be variated from 0-to 100 mm only by led the unit stand on its 3 legs and turn the rest left or right to make the bottom of the chamber move up or down. The only different of FL-2001 and FL-2002 I that Model FL-2202 have a diameter of 152 mm. That makes it possible to get samples from liquid or sticky materials placed in a standard petri dich. The legs of the units are easy removed so the units may be placed on a heating plate or placed in an oven. All surfaces internal the chamber are made of polished alumina – Polished acid proved stainless steel (FLEC Cell) and a sealing ring made of Viton covered by PFA. That make no chemical reaction or emissions even by 200°C.
