Editorial summary

This pilot study develops recycled-LDPE biocomposites containing plant-based residues as candidate laboratory reference materials for VOC-emission testing. The candidates were characterised by spectroscopy and calorimetry, while emissions were measured with a μ-CTE 250 microchamber under different conditioning temperatures and times. FLEC was not used in the experiment; it is identified as a possible future cell format in which such reference materials could be evaluated.

Editorial, non-verbatim summary based on the publisher abstract and publicly available accepted manuscript; the version-of-record CC BY-NC-ND licence is not commercially reusable.

FLEC use

FLEC mention, comparison or reference

The authors' emission measurements used a stationary μ-CTE 250 microchamber, not FLEC. FLEC is mentioned only as one possible future chamber/cell format for using the proposed reference material.
